I ended up in the hospital last weekend for a couple of nights with abdominal pain and elevated liver function tests. They thought it was a gallbladder issue, but then weren’t so sure (it’s a long, boring story). So my ESG doctor is having me come in tomorrow (Sept 9th) to look in my stomach with an endoscope to be sure it’s okay to proceed with the ESG procedure on the 11th. Hopefully it’s still a go, and I don’t have to have my gallbladder removed first, or get any other unexpected surprises after he looks around in there.
I have decided that even if the ESG gets rescheduled, I’m starting a diet anyway on the 11th (low carb, tracking in My Fitness Pal, with intermittent fasting), but I’m still really hoping I can go through with the procedure as scheduled. Although, not having a clear answer as to what was wrong with me last weekend is making me 20 times more nervous about something going wrong post-procedure.
