I had my 1 week follow up appointment, and so far things look good. I’m down between 9-10 lbs, almost half way to my first mini-goal (22lbs within the first 3 months). The doctor said I should be around 1,000 calories a day, but I’m not coming close to that right now. I’m just listening to my body’s physical signals of hunger, and stop eating once those signals start fading. I’m adding protein powder into almost everything I take in to try to meet that 50g/day minimum.
Food Find: I’m doing this gluten free and very low sugar, and found something I actually enjoy eating in liquid form that fits this profile. It’s Panera Bread Baked Potato Soup, blended into liquid in my Ninja. I also mix in a scoop of Collagen Protein Peptides powder to 6 ounces of the soup, which increases my protein content.
Helpful Note: My doctor said for something to qualify as a “full liquid” it just has to be liquid before you eat it, even if you modify it from a solid to liquid with a blender. Chunks cause the stomach to churn, whereas liquid flows through, enabling the stomach to rest.
