I think I’m ready. I hope I’m ready. It’s 7:30pm and I just drank my last meal (bone broth) of the day. I made sugar free jello, and electrolyte Popsicles to have something with texture over the next couple days, if I can eat anything.
I’ll be honest, I’m very nervous about two things. First, the possible nausea/vomiting. Second, the ticking time bomb of a gallbladder that I have. I’m worried I’ll get another blockage and have to recover from gallbladder surgery on top of this procedure. My options were a) have my gallbladder removed, then have the ESG or b) go ahead with the ESG and try to keep my gallbladder. I chose to try to keep it, and I hope that was the right call. The Dr said I should be able to tell the difference between regular ESG pain and gallbladder pain, so hopefully I’ll at least know what’s going on and what to do if it happens.
I’ll keep this post short, as I’m trying to avoid thinking about it all to keep my anxiety down.
