Welcome to my first “Motivation Monday” post! Each Monday I am going to focus a little on motivation.
A lot of this journey is psychological. Keeping motivated is difficult. Almost all of us reach a time in any journey where we get discouraged or lose momentum. Whether it’s the scale not moving, a weight loss tool failing, or just the stresses of life taking over. Sometimes things get HARD, and sometimes it’s just HARD not to allow it to make us discouraged.
I’m starting to realize that allowing myself to recognize and feel the discouraging feelings as they happen is important in order to move on from them. It is okay to allow myself some permission to dwell on and/or vent about it. But after the moment is over, I really need to take some time to dwell on the accomplishments made so far. This is important in order to stay motivated to continue. I think internalizing all of my negative feelings about this process is part of what causes me to “give up”.
I have found the below quote (also on today’s post’s photo) really hits the spot right now.
“If I quit now, I will soon be back to where I started. And when I started, I was desperately wishing to be where I am now. “
Amen.. Amen.. Motivation is the key..
I am gearing up for Thanksgiving and my nurse told me I can eat mash potatoes and some stuffing. Of course I know I cannot and will not eat much!
But you definitely know I am super excited for Thursday! But until then I will continue with my liquid. Thank you for the motivation..
